It’s not every New Year’s Eve I find myself travelling back in time to the 70′s. From the most delicate little daisies to a wedding dress found at a vintage store in London, everything about Nick and Mary’s wedding was bewitching. The 70′s have always seemed to me a decade of one endless golden summer, of my parents in love and in bell bottoms, of Elton John, ABBA, The Bee Gees and Fleetwood Mac. It was every bit a beautiful daydream, made even more enchanting by the pouring rain and the glorious Tararuas. Put on your rose colored glasses, or in this case, some far out oversized amber glasses, and prepare yourselves for some earnest retrospection. Ooh I hear laughter in the rain, walking hand in hand with the one I love. Ooh how I love the rainy days and the happy way I feel inside…
I was in love with the whole world
and all that lived in its rainy arms.
Louise Erdrich
Now the sky could be blue, I don’t mind, without you it’s a waste of time. Could be blue, could be grey, without you
I’m just miles away.
Strawberry Swing, Coldplay
In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.
Rumi
I feel like this is the beginning,
though I’ve loved you for a million years .
You Are The Sunshine Of My Life, Stevie Wonder
Love like rain, like the smell of a tangerine, like a surprise found in your pocket.
Deb Caletti
Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.
John Ruskin

It is quite impossible to be surrounded by this many sunflowers and successfully resist all feelings of joy and happiness. At Megan and Gary’s wedding, I stepped into a beautiful day and remained there, enraptured, mesmerized, overwhelmed. How humbling it was seeing rows of sunflowers, their beautiful bright faces dancing gracefully towards the endless blue sky, each turn a prayer, each twirl an offering to the sun. The lemon trees and the extraordinarily incandescent river from the neighboring property were calling out to me, and I cannot even begin to convey how tremendous my desire was to eat and inhale every lemon from every tree or how earnestly I wanted to dip my toes in the glistening water. Each second was beauty deepened only by glory, the grandeur of the afternoon enchanting and bewildering me all at once. My eyes grew wild and bright like a child’s, and I am forever grateful for this divine day. ♥
On a day when the wind is perfect, the sail just needs to open and the world is full of beauty. Today is such a day. There’s a breeze that can enter your soul. This love that I know plays the drum, arms move around me. Who can contain their self before this beauty? On a day when the wind is perfect, the sail just needs to open and the love begins. Today is such a day.
Jalaludin Rumi
The skies,
which make me think of your name
As they bear faithful witness for me.The place where I stand
which brings my mind back to the hand
that set it beneath me
The place where I stand.
Solomon Ibn Gabirol
All in all, it was a never-to-be-forgotten summer — one of those summers which come seldom into any life, but leave a rich heritage of beautiful memories in their going — one of those summers which, in a fortunate combination of delightful weather, delightful friends and delightful doing, come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world.
L.M. Montgomery
Awake my dear
Be kind to your sleeping heart.Take it out into the vast fields of light
and let it breathe.

I relive this beautiful summer in my soul with these photographs. I am forever thankful to have seen the world from this mountain top, and to have lived a day in its magnificence. Boomrock is situated on 8 kms of stunning coastline. Waves thunder against the 250-meter cliffs and echo back out across the endless sea, giving this remarkable place its name – Boomrock. Ann Na and Oti’s wedding was intimate and thrilling in every sense. We all felt special and hand-picked on that peak, as if the breathtaking view of the South Island, or the long white cloud over the cobalt waters were for us, and us alone. And forget your Rolls Royces and Bentleys – our bride arrived in style, and on time – in a red helicopter!
The minute I heard my first love story
I started looking for you, not knowing
how blind that was.Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere.
They’re in each other all along.
Rumi
I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.
E.E. Cummings
And I want to walk with you on a cloudy day, in fields where the yellow grass grows knee-high. So won’t you try to come? Come away with me and we’ll kiss on a mountain top. Come away with me and I’ll never stop loving you.
Norah Jones

Because, when you know that language, it’s easy to understand that someone in the world awaits you, whether it’s in the middle of the desert or in some great city. And when two such people encounter each other, and their eyes meet, the past and the future become unimportant. There is only that moment, and the incredible certainty that everything under the sun has been written by one hand only. It is the hand that evokes love, and creates a twin soul for every person in the world.
The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho
This is where it all begins. Everything starts here, today.
One Day, David Nicholls
I don’t know what they are called, the spaces between seconds– but I think of you always in those intervals.

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.

Summer afternoon – summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.
Henry James
Live quietly in the moment and see the beauty of all before you. The future will take care of itself.
Paramahansa Yogananda
There’s something like a line of gold thread running through a man’s words when he talks to his daughter, and gradually over the years it gets to be long enough for you to pick up in your hands and weave into a cloth that feels like love itself.
John Gregory Brown
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a
Million suns, and calls me on and on
Across the universe.
John Lennon
Love is the voice under all silences, the hope which has no opposite in fear; the strength so strong mere force is feebleness: the truth more first than sun, more last than star.

She was still that girl who’d play with her brothers’ toy guns in her room, that little woman who’d hide the car keys from her father so he’d never have to leave the house without taking her with him.
She was still that little princess who wanted to be an astronaut, that little beauty who knew she’d never make it as a veterinarian since she was always the first to cry when her pets got hurt.
She was still that little doll in blue, basking in the sunlight and jumping on the bed.
Only today was her wedding day.
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.
