Dianna Capco Photography - Evan & Bella

I tried to discover, in the rumor of forests and waves, words that other men could not hear, and I pricked up my ears to listen to the revelation of their harmony.

I grew up in this town, my poetry was born between the hill and the river, it took its voice from the rain, and like the timber, it steeped itself in the forests.

As time goes on, you’ll understand. What lasts, lasts; what doesn’t, doesn’t.

Time solves most things. And what time can’t solve, you have to solve yourself.

This ocean is yours, and mine:
these buttons and wheels and little forgotten treasures,
fans upon whose feathers, love has scattered its blossoms, glasses, knives and scissors,
all bear the trace of someone’s fingers on their handle or surface,
the trace of a distant hand lost in the depths of forgetfulness.

From the stormy archipelagoes I brought
my windy accordian, waves of crazy rain,
the habitual slowness of natural things:
they made up my wild heart.

The morning is full of storm
in the heart of summer.

The clouds travel like white handkerchiefs of goodbye,
the wind, travelling, waving them in its hands.

The numberless heart of the wind
beating above our loving silence.

Rest with your dream in my dream.
Love and pain and work should all sleep, now.
The night turns on its invisible wheels,
and you are pure beside me as a sleeping ember.

No one else, Love, will sleep in my dreams. You will go, we will go together, over the waters of time.
No one else will travel through the shadows with me, only you, evergreen, ever sun, ever moon.

Filipino mythology with a twist, said my good friend Niner Guiao of Eskritoryo Pilipinas when she asked me to do a shoot for Polecats Manila’s 4th Anniversary Show. The twist, of course, was pole dancing, hoops and silks. I thank Niner for the challenge and the confidence, and the incredible dancers of Polecats Manila for introducing me to the awesome world of aerial arts!

Amihan: Indayog at Lahi is happening this Sunday, November 3 at the Meralco Theater in Pasig. Tickets are available at all SM Tickets branches and at the Polecats Manila Studio. Proceeds of Amihan will be going to the Eskritoryo Pilipinas reading and writing program for children called “Kwentong Munti.”

(You can also take part by joining the Sponsored Seats Initiative, where your contribution of Php300 will give children the opportunity to watch and learn from the show through our partnerships with Teach for the Philippines and Virlanie Foundation.)

Oh and guess what? Kuya Bodjie will be hosting the show!

Dianna Capco Photography - Kate & Logan

It’s hard not to fall in love with two people so passionate about each other, so complete in their own little world. Every so often, I’d feel Kate and Logan forget we were in the middle of a shoot, and that is a very, very beautiful thing. I can’t say enough about how amazing this couple is.

When you spend an afternoon with two people as madly and as intoxicatingly in love as Kate and Logan are, your heart would ache too, in all the good and wonderful ways. ♥

the stars and shouted
to the heavens at the
top of my lungs
and what was so
beautiful
was the way the
stars shined
when the sky
swallowed
your name.

Close your eyes, let your hands and nerve-ends drop, stop breathing for 3 seconds, listen to the silence inside the illusion of the world, and you will remember the lesson you forgot, which was taught in immense milky way soft cloud innumerable worlds long ago and not even at all. It is all one vast awakened thing. I call it the golden eternity. It is perfect.

Ruth and Anthony are two of the most amazing, most hilarious people you’ll ever meet, and I’m not just saying this because I personally witnessed the backseat of our speeding car transform into the backstage of a runway show, with full hair and makeup and reflective discussions on stallions, godfathers and missionary camps transpiring between horse riding, tree climbing, sunset chasing and swing making (as in, we were making swings).

It is always an event every time these two find their way back to the Philippines, and I am rewarded every second, as a friend and as a photographer, with the love and time and trust they give me. Everything you see here is exactly that. Their love. Their time. Themselves. And their complete confidence in me, to go barefoot on sharp, slippery rocks during high tide, make out at high noon in long sleeves in 36 degrees Celsius siesta weather, and stay still and smiling for the cameras while their horses relieve themselves. I love you De Castros. Thank you. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day, and I am beyond excited at the days ahead. ♥

Thank you Bong and CJ of Threelogy! Please watch their wonderful video of this day here!

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.
